Bassmaster Elite Series pro Randy Howell's primary sponsor for 2011 will be King's Home, a non-profit organization based in central Alabama. His boat, truck and jersey will all sport the King's Home logo (click on the photo for a larger view of his truck).
He began volunteering at King’s Home 2 years ago, after learning about the organization’s mission to provide hope and healing to mothers, children, youth and women seeking refuge from abuse, neglect and homelessness. He connected instantly with the residents, sharing his love of fishing while teaching them about the sport at one of the campus lakes.
“Fishing is therapeutic for these kids and motivates them to get outside and explore,” he said. “And watching their faces as they catch their first fish is a wonderful experience, not just for them, but for me as well.”
He served as keynote speaker for the group’s largest fundraising event last April, and in November he signed a contract to promote King’s Home nationwide.
“Our partnership with Randy has been a wonderful blessing,” said King's Home president Lew Burdette. “His engaging personality, media savvy, talent as a world-class angler and tremendous heart for helping children, youth and moms make him a perfect fit as our spokesperson.”
The program operates 19 homes located in Jefferson, Shelby and Tuscaloosa counties in Alabama.
