Kellogg back with FLW

FLW Outdoors announced today that cereal and convenience-food giant Kellogg has returned as a sponsor of the organization. The company's 1-year hiatus coincided with that of Walmart.

“We are excited that Kellogg has rejoined the ranks of FLW Outdoors,” said marketing division president Trisha Blake. “They have been a strong supporter of the fishing industry, and we are delighted they will continue to showcase their products at the FLW Outdoors Expo and other events all around the country.”

Said Kellogg senior VP of Walmart sales Gary Gatton: “Kellogg has a long-standing relationship with FLW Outdoors. The 2011 season should be very exciting, and we are proud to have some of the best anglers in the world representing our iconic brands.”

The four-angler team includes two pros who formerly represented the company – Dave Lefebre, who'll wear a Frosted Flakes jersey this year; and Jim Tutt, who'll represent Rice Krispies. They'll be joined by Shinichi Fukae (Cheez-It) and Greg Bohannan (Pop-Tarts).

"I'm extremely happy to be back with the Kellogg's family," said Lefebre, who sported the Chevy banner in 2010. "They gave me my first break in the sport back in 2004 and they were so instrumental in helping to launch my career. It'll be great to kick off the new year wearing their colors again.

"We've got a stout team as always, and the addition of Shin Fukae makes it even stronger."

A notable absence is Clark Wendlandt, who was formerly the Kellogg flag-bearer on the FLW Tour. Wendlandt had an FLW team deal with Cabela's last year, but Cabela's has not renewed with the organization for 2011.
