InterMedia buys BassFan

InterMedia Outdoors Holdings, Inc. today announced that it had acquired the assets of OutdoorsFan Media, including BassFan.com, InshoreFan.com, ShotgunFan.com, OutdoorsFanWeather.com, BassFanArmy.com and the BassFan Army grassroots membership program, which includes the BassFan Army Weekend Warrior Championship tournament.

InterMedia Outdoors, Inc. is the leading multimedia company exclusively serving the information and entertainment needs of outdoors enthusiasts, with the largest network of websites dedicated to hunting, shooting and fishing; a portfolio of 17 magazines that includes In-Fisherman, Florida Sportsman, Guns & Ammo, Petersen’s Hunting, and Fly Fisherman; 11 market-leading television productions; syndicated radio programming and the largest library of outdoors television programming.

In announcing the purchase, Steve Hoffman, publisher of In-Fisherman and director of InterMedia’s television operations, said: “BassFan.com and its sister brands have established a powerful voice in the outdoors space with a compelling mix of news, tournament coverage and engaging features. While capturing the benefits of cross-marketing within the InterMedia Outdoors family of brands and businesses, BassFan and the other news-oriented websites will maintain a separate and independent editorial staff and perspective. Under the new ownership, OutdoorsFan Media will rapidly expand its coverage of additional fan communities within fishing, hunting and shooting while strengthening its existing product offering. The business will continue to be run by Kumar and CFO Scot Laney.
