Nixon, Martin-Wells picked

Professional anglers Larry Nixon and Pam Martin-Wells will be inducted into the Legends of the Outdoors National Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Aug. 17 in Nashville, Tenn.

The hall was created in 2002 by Tennessee hunting and fishing guide Garry Mason to honor people who "through countless hours of hard work and devotion to the outdoors, in both hunting and fishing, have played an integral part in setting the standards and guidelines for the rest of the outdoor world to follow."

Other 2007 inductees are Strike King and Avery public relations director Tommy Akin, Alex Rutledge of Hunter's Specialties, Larry Weishuhn of Thompson Center Arms, outdoor writer and hunting and fishing guide Steve McCadams, and Marion McCollum, owner of Mack's Prairie Wings.

The ceremony will be held at the Sheraton Music City, and special rates are in effect for those who wish to attend. Hank Parker, a member of the hall, will be the keynote speaker.
