According to BASS, drought conditions at Toledo Bend in Texas have created unsafe boating conditions. Therefore, the first Women's Bassmaster Tour event (March 16–18), and the second Bassmaster Southern Tour event (March 2–4), have been relocated.
The Women's Tour event will now take place at Bull Shoals Lake, Mo. in conjunction with the Table Rock Bassmaster Elite Series event (Sept. 14–17). The Southern Tour event will still take place March 2–4, but at Sam Rayburn. The Jan. 31 entry fee deadline remains the same.
Louisiana Sabine River Authority executive director Jim Pratt said, "We've been in serious drought conditions for a while now and in fact, in December, we reached an all-time lake-level low. For those unfamiliar with the waters, it can be a dangerous situation and we have to be extremely cautious. We certainly support BASS's decision to move the events and we look forward to hosting some BASS events in the future."
> BASS noted that all women who were registered for the Women's Tour event at its original location will have the opportunity to transfer their registrations to another Women's Bassmaster Tour tournament or receive a full refund.
