An overwhelming majority of BASS Federation state presidents voted last night to leave BASS and accept a proposal from FLW Outdoors chairman Irwin Jacobs, according to Robert Cartlidge, president of The Bass Federation Inc. (TBF Inc.).
Cartlidge said the tally was 30-4 in favor of leaving BASS, with 14 presidents abstaining because they did not have the authority from their membership to cast a definitive vote at the meetings in Celebration, Fla. He added that he expects most of those 14 to join the majority within the next week to 10 days.
States that voted to remain with BASS were Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and the Canadian province of Ontario.
Cartlidge discusses the vote and the future of the Federation in an interview on BassFan Radio. To listen, click here.
