RE: Hibdon's new deal – Good to see you coming back on tour, Dion. I must have missed you on your Indiana Tincup promotions. You are most deserving of this comeback. A great angler and a greater personality.

  • Troy Simbeck of Loretto, TN writes:

RE: Hibdon's new deal – I am now a Tincup drinker. I fished with him as a co-angler in the old B.A.S.S. Top 150 on Pickwick/Wilson lakes – awesome guy.

  • John A. Argese of Taylors, SC writes:

RE: Balog on conservation – Along with spraying and carp control would be access. Access to lakes, rivers, ponds is important. Not just shoreline access but access to water that somehow becomes limited because of corporate or residential interests.

  • Robert Chapin of Osakis, MN writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Actually my wife caught over 25 pounds in a tournament. We were fishing a team tournament together and she caught a 6.4, 6.1, 6.0, 5.4 and a 4-pounder. It was a bittersweet day for me.

  • Anthony Valachovic of Coral Springs, FL writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Lake Okeechobee, June 15, 2013, 35.76 pounds in a Bass Busters Open.

  • Mike Jessup of King, NC writes:

RE: Go-to baits – If you have to have a bite, it is the shaky-head for me. Spot Remover shak- head, 1/8-ounce with a Zoom Finesse Worm in clear water, Trick Worm in stained/muddy water. Of course, Spike-It on the tail. Always will outfish anyone in the boat with this technique.

  • Monte Nevils of Youngsville, LA writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – 28-pound sack from Sam Rayburn in fall time of year. Had a 7 1/2-pounder.

  • David Crandall of Okeechobee, FL writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Back in 1983 I had 28- and 29-pound catches when fishing club tournaments. One was on Lake Kissimmee and one on Lake Okeechobee.

  • James E. Buchanan of Monroe, NC writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Four years ago I fished a Fishing with Jim Austin Tournament on Lake Guntersville. My partner and I caught a five-fish limit weighing 31.27 pounds and finished 2nd to a team with 31.29 pounds. The tournament was held in mid-April.

  • Billy Nelson of Valencia, CA writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – While fishing a Stratos boat owners tournament in April 2004, my brother and I caught 28.63 on day 1 and 32.74 on day 2 for almost 62 pounds and still finished 2nd in the tournament! The lake we fish most often now in Southern California is Lake Casitas. It is a known big-bass factory. Low water levels have kept the big bass from showing themselves for the past few years but, just recently the fishing has really come back in a big way and we have managed several 30-pound sacks for our best five.

  • Chip Dover of Longwood, FL writes:

    RE: 25-pound poll – 33, 28, 26 25. I only won two of the tournaments. Best fish was a 10.62.

  • Mark Modrak of China Township, MI writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – I caught 25-15, all smallmouths, in a Michigan Division BFL that was held at Burt and Mullet lakes in northern Michigan.

  • Tony Smith of Northport, AL writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – My buddy Chad and I had 29- and 27-poundbags, both at Guntersville.

  • Ryan Said of Farmington Hills, MI writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Got a 26-pound bag of smallmouth ... fall derby, all cranking. Blew like crazy that day but they were eating.

  • Michael Shireman of Riverton, KS writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – 28.9 at Lake of the Ozarks (3rd place). 28.3 at Truman lake (2nd place). 26.9 at Truman Lake (4th place). 25.7 at Table Rock (1st place).

  • Tommy Yates of Scurry, TX writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Weighed in a five-fish limit for 29.76 pounds in a Honey Hole tournament at Sam Rayburn back in the mid '90s. All of the fish came on Carolina-rigged Zoom Lizards in ditches and drains in the Black Forest area. Had an 8.52 and a 8.49 in the limit that came within 10 minuites of each other.

  • Hank Golden of Tallassee, AL writes:

    RE: 25-pound poll – 29 pounds, 10 ounces. Guntersville.

  • Shane Burns of Durham, NC writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – 42 pounds in a 96-boat field. The next weekend, 47 pounds in a 26-boat field. The Sunday after each event took friends out and caught 35 pounds and 40 pounds in a couple of hours. Prior to that incredible year, I had a winning 28-pound stringer the year of the A-Rig, all on the same lake.

RE: 25-pound poll – A few years ago in a West Central Bassmasters Fall League tourney my dad and I weighed 25.55 pounds for five on a local lake. This lake is in Minnesota. You don't hear about 5-pound averages up here very often! It was a magical day. We actually figured out the total if it was a four-day event and we would have had over 80 pounds. It was only a $20 deal but the money doesn't matter. Our club is more about having fun and learning.

  • Greg Toney of Arlington, VA writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Yes, in the early '80s during a club tournament of Yankee Bassmasters in Massachusetts I was able to weigh in 39 pounds, 9 ounces on five bass from Mashpee-Wakeby Lake on Cape Cod. I was able to cull one over 7 pounds and one over 6 pounds. All caught on black and blue Arky jig with Uncle Josh black and blue pork chunk. Best day ever.

  • Dean Lanternier of Hixson, TN writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Just once. Three big 'uns on a squarebill and a Zoom worm, two to fill out on a Senko and a jig. Was a team tournament.

  • Michael Bedenbaugh of Kissimmee, FL writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Yes, weighed in multiple bags over 25 pounds. My home water is the Kissimmee Chain. I have been blessed to weigh 30-plus bags on the Kissimmee Chain, Winter Haven Chain and Lake Istokpoga. Last March had 34.95 in the Toho Marine Team Trail and actually placed 2nd! It usually takes 25 pounds every weekend on the Kissimmee Chain to win.

  • Michael Zasuly of Woodstock, NY writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Hudson River, very late fall, crankbaits and spinnerbaits on points, 27 pounds for five.

  • Greg Sutton of Broken Arrow, OK writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Largest tournament bag was in a B.A.S.S. Federation tournament years ago on Hugo Lake in southeastern Oklahoma. Weight on 5 fish totaled 28 pounds, 2 ounces. Stringer consisted of (1) 8-02, (2) 6-04, (3) 6-01), (4) 4-03) and (5) 3-02.

Only five fish caught that day in March. Funny part of the whole deal was that the non-boater after the big fish literally sat on the livewell lid for the rest of the day. When I first noticed it and asked him why he wasn't fishing, he stated he had never experienced such a stringer like I had going and he was going to make sure they didn't escape. He never threw another cast until after I had the fifth one in the livewell and I offered him the control up front and he said "Heck no, you've got this tournament wrapped up and I'm not going to let that slip away." I'll never forget his reaction and sincerity.

  • Jared Williams of Hampton, VA writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – Cracked a 25.12 bag on the James River in the, at the time, Priority Trail Team Series on the first weekend of April in 2016. 164-boat field, 9 bags over 20 pounds, and took over 16 1/2 to cut a check. Unreal numbers for a true tidal water fishery. Magical day that also resulted in winning big fish with an 8.55 stud. Also broke off a 4-plus-pounder that day and weighed in a 2-1/2!

  • Billy McDonald of Greenwood, IN writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – 25-02, smallmouths, Lake St Clair FLW event, 2012.
    29-12, FLW, Chickamauga.

  • Clayton Boulware of Zavalla, TX writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – 40.28 on Day 1 of TTT Championship on Rayburn in June 2018. 29-plus last July in MEDIA Individual on Rayburn, followed by 28-plus in a team derby the Saturday after. I've been fortunate enough to have multiple sacks over 25 throughout the years.

  • Mark Mendez of San Jose, CA writes:

RE: 25-pound poll – I've weighed many bags over 25 and several over 30 both on the California Delta and Clear Lake.

RE: Shimano skips Classic – I am sure Shimano is more concerned with the health of their employees and their families as well as showgoers and their families than your brand loyalty.

RE: Shimano skips Classic – And don't forget Y2K ... that was supposed to wipe out modern civilization and send us back to the Stone Age!

  • Robert Padgett of LaGrange, GA writes:

RE: Shimano skips Classic – I understand everyone's concerns, but if we do not try to be the leaders in our industry for the biggest show in bass fishing and the fans show up and do not see your products or the people that represent them. I’m sorry, I will not buy your products anymore.

  • Dennis Pentecost of Milford, IL writes:

RE: Shimano skips Classic – Coronavirus? Killer bees/swine flu/AIDS/bird flu and e coli was going to kill us all, remember? Just more fear tactics! Wonder what agenda they are up to now? I am hiding under the bed as I write this.

  • Jay Sheets of Bonnerdale, AR writes:

RE: Quinn sues Sanders – Jason, I'm proud to see you stand up for your rights. Among other things, Bernie Sanders owes you a huge public apology. Actually using a bass boat in that video was a slap in the face to all of us who bass fish. Just one of many examples of what a dumb jerk he and his campaign represents.

  • Jim Neece Sr. of Bristol, VA writes:

RE: Neece's Chickamauga win – Thanks for the article. Jim made some great decisions (timing when to leave a spot, what particular casting lines worked, etc.) and showed a confident and determined mindset that he could pull this win off. Proud dad.
