Additional details have become available about the automobile accident that involved FLW Tour pro Brent Ehrler on Monday afternoon near Lake Lanier.
According to a report on the Forsyth (Ga.) News' website, Clara Garmon, 58, of Gainesville, Ga., was killed when she lost control of her 2006 Chevrolet Colorado in the rain and slammed head-on into Ehrler's 2011 Chevy Suburban. According to the article, both drivers were wearing their seat belts, but Garmon's broke and she was ejected into the bed of the truck on impact.
The wreck closed Highway 53 and Truman Mountain Road in northeastern Forsyth County for 2 hours while police conducted an investigation. No charges are expected to be filed, the report said.
Ehrler suffered minor injuries and was released from an Atlanta-area hospital Monday night.
