Kota Kiriyama checked in today with a reminder that Friday is the final day to sign up for his 3rd annual American Dream Tournament, which will take place Saturday at Alabama's Lake Wheeler. The winner receives an all-expense-paid trip to visit and fish Japan. (Winners, if they wish, may opt out of the trip and accept a cash award.)

Kiriyama also reported that he recently returned from a trip to his homeland, where he assisted Lure Magazine with an article on the Alabama Rig. While fishing Lake Yamanaka near Mount Fuji (about a 90-minute drive from Tokyo), he used an A-Rig to catch a 5-pounder on his third cast, stunning the guide, a cameraman and the magazine's editor, who were all on board at the time.
