An interesting TV note: BFL All-American champ Jacob Wheeler found a mentor a while back when Joe Thomas took a liking to him. The two first met when the up-from-nothing Wheeler made the final showdown of the Ultimate Match Fishing Federation championship. Thomas later told BassFan several times that he thinks Wheeler's "the real deal" and is destined for the very top in the sport.
BassFans who want to know a little more about Wheeler should tune into Thomas' Reel in the Outdoors tomorrow on the Outdoor Channel – some of the show will feature Wheeler. It airs at 1:00 Eastern, just prior to the Bassmasters.
