Scott's swimbait

Scott's swimbait

The swimbait played a huge roll in Scott Martin's recent Forrest Wood Cup win. He threw two – a 3 1/2" Gary Yamamoto and a Basstrix-style. Interestingly, he said the Yamamoto was the more productive of the two, and it's about as simple as it gets. The swimbait itself looks a lot like a Mister Twister Sassy Shad, which is largely considered to be the first swimbait.

The Yamamoto appears to right in the same color (blue-pearl/silver-flake) that Martin used. He rigged the bait on a 1/2-ounce Sworming Hornet Fish Head Spin, also shown to right.

For those keeping track, the Fish Head Spin was also a factor in Kevin Hawk's 2010 Cup win at Lanier in Georgia.
