According to boat-industry daily Soundings Trade Only, J&D Acquisitions is suing the the upstart SeeDealerCost.com website in Minnesota courts.
J&D, a holding company formed by Irwin Jacobs and Paul DeJoria in the wake of the Genmar bankruptcy, controls boat brands that include Larson, Seaswirl, FinCraft and Triumph, as well as Carver and Marquis yachts.
Jacobs reportedly issued a letter to dealers that announced the suit, as well as intent to discover who relayed confidential pricing information to SeeDealerCost.
