Nighttime fishing isn't for everybody, but devotees of angling after dark often catch bigger fish than their daytime counterparts. Also, night fishing can be a nice break from the overpowering heat during the warmest months of the year.
There's always been a big drawback to nighttime fishing, though – seeing your line is difficult, if not impossible. If you wanted to pursue pigs with braided line, there wasn't a braid out there that "glowed" in the dark.
