FLW College: 2011 skeds, details

FLW Outdoors this week released details for its 2011 College Fishing program. Registration opens this Monday (Dec. 13) and there are a few changes.

Next year, clubs will receive a larger portion of a competing team's payout, with 75% going to the club and 25% to its respective school in the club's name. The payout for qualifying tournaments will be $10,000 for 1st place down to $2,000 for 5th. At the Regionals, 1st place will win $50,000 and 5th will win $5,000. The national champions will win $100,000, while the 5th-place team will win $10,000.

The winning prizes at the Regionals and National constitute cash and a new Ranger 177TR with a 90-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.

Teams, which consist of two students, will be allowed to bring a total of five fish to the weigh-in, regardless of which team angler caught them. Teams will now be required to designate who would fish the Forrest Wood Cup as a pro and a co-angler, should they qualify, prior to takeoff at their first qualifying event. This designation cannot be changed.

The 2010 National Championship will be held April 7-9, 2011, at Kentucky Lake and hosted by Murray State University in Murray, Ky.

Schedules for the five regions – Central, North, Southeast, Texas and West – as well as payout tables can be seen here. The circuit will still be title-sponsored by the National Guard.
