The Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) today announced the field of anglers that will compete in this year's event, scheduled for Oct. 1-3 at Lake Conroe. The tournament brings together the top competitors from the PAA Tournament Series, Bassmaster Elite Series and FLW Tour.
“The quality of competition in our tournament is unmatched by any other fishing tournament in the world,” said tournament director Lenny Francoeur. “We have created an event that will truly determine the world champion of bass fishing. Fans around the nation will be able to watch all the action during a special airing on Fox Sports Net on Nov. 21.”
The TTBC field is comprised of defending champion Dave Lefebre the Top 15 anglers PAA Tournament Series, Elite Series and FLW Tour who are PAA members. There are also four exemptions, which went to Terry Scroggins, Kelly Jordon, Gerald Swindle and Shaw Grigsby.
Headlining the field is Kevin VanDam, the all-time leading money-winner in professional fishing who captured his third Bassmaster Classic title and added his sixth Toyota Tundra Angler of the Year (AOY) award in 2010. Reigning FLW Tour AOY Bryan Thrift will also compete.
Tickets to the TTBC are $15 in advance and are available for Saturday and Sunday individually. The daily tickets include grounds access and admission to live concerts held at the event venue each day. Concerts and other ticketed events, including tournament weigh-ins, interactive expo areas, fireworks shows and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Outdoor Adventures Area, will take place at the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center’s Festival Grounds in Conroe.

The national broadcast of the event on Fox Sports Net is scheduled for 6 p.m. CST on Nov. 21 (check local listings).
