Mann's gets patent

Mann's Bait Co. announced that it was issued a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its HardNose products. Patent No. 7,266,922, entitled Fishing Lures having Elastomeric Portions, is directed to the proprietary manufacturing process used to create the HardNose products.

HardNose products are one-piece soft-plastics with a harder plastic head that resists tearing and helps keep the lure from sliding down the hook.

Mann's president Frank Oelerich noted: "The issuance of this patent is further recognition of the important technological advance represented by Mann's HardNose products to our customers and of the proprietary nature of these products.
