U.S. Open: Pirch Leads

After day 2 of the WON Bass U.S. Open at Lake Mead, Arizona tour pro Cliff Pirch moved up from 2nd into the lead. He added 10.22 pounds to his 11.45 day-1 catch and leads by more than 3 pounds – a significant margin at Mead.

The U.S. Open features a shared-weight format between pros and cos, but Pirch was a late signup and fished solo for the second straight day. "I'm around a lot of fish," he said. "It was better wind direction. It started out of the west and switched to the south. I fished the west-facing and then south-facing banks today."

Day-1 leader Ben Koller, from Arizona, weighed a single day-2 fish (1.69 pounds) and tumbled to 34th.

Utah competitor Jamie Cyphers weighed 7.89 and moved up a spot to 2nd, while Nevada's Andrew Jackson improved one spot to 3rd.

The U.S. Open winner receives $150,000 in merchandise and cash. Here's how the Top 20 looks with 1 day left to fish.
