59 is just fine

If everything shakes out as expected, the Top 59 anglers in the final FLW Tour points standings will compete in the Forrest Wood Cup in 2 weeks at Arkansas' Lake Ouachita.

Only the Top 40 from the Tour are guaranteed berths in the 81-angler field, but 14 of those (No. 1 Jay Yelas, No. 2 Shinichi Fukae, No. 3 Mark Davis, No. 4 David Dudley, No. 7 Andy Morgan, No. 11 Jacob Powroznik, No. 12 Darrel Robertson, No. 14 Dave Lefebre, No. 18 Clark Wendlandt, No. 19 Koby Kreiger, No. 26 Rob Kilby, No. 31 Luke Clausen, No. 32 Anthony Gagliardi and No. 38 Ott DeFoe) had already qualified for the Cup via last year's FLW Series or Stren Championship. FLW Outdoors has made no official announcement, but several anglers told BassFan that the organization would go down the Tour list to fill out the Cup roster.

So, with those 14 accounted for, that makes 54th the new magic position. But there are two more pre-qualifiers in the group from 41 to 54 (No. 48 Matt Herren and No. 54 Terry Baksay), so that takes it to 56th. There's another free-passer in that slot (Chris Elliott), so that should allow No. 57 Jerry Green to get in.

Nos. 58 and 59 (J.T. Kenney and Tommy Martin) are pre-qualified. The first angler out appears to be No. 60 Jim Moynagh, who finished 3rd in the points last year and had three Top 25s this season, but also three finishes of 145th or worse.

The Top 30 from last year's Series received berths, as did the highest finishers from each division at the 2006 Stren Championship.
