2007 Bassmaster Classic champion Boyd Duckett has signed a deal with Toronto-based Element 21. Terms of the multiyear deal were not disclosed.
The move into fishing is a new one for the E21, a company best known for its golf products. Company spokesman Ken Whiting said: "Boyd will be heavily involved in field testing all of E21's new rod lines, as well as providing technical assistance with other forms of advertising that E21 will be pursuing throughout the coming year. In addition, Boyd will act as pro staff manager and will be actively involved in the selection of E21's Pro Staff."
E21 Golf president and CEO Nataliya Hearn noted: "We consider ourselves very lucky to have Boyd as a part of our team. Not only is Boyd a talented fisherman, but he's also a 2 handicap golfer and we plan to utilize these talents on the golf side of E21 as well."
