This year Bass Cat, the industry's last major independent boat manufacturer, turned 35 years old. That's right, the company founded by Ron Pierce and now run by his son Rick started making bass boats in 1971.
BassFan joins the celebration this Monday by launching the first of three Bass Cat theme weeks (non-consecutive). Look for stories with Bass Cat's Rick Pierce, plus national Bass Cat and Mercury pro-staffers like Marty Stone and Mark Tucker. Up-and-comers will be a part of it too. It all starts Monday.
"Bass Cat has a long-standing reputation in the industry for innovation, quality and 'sticktoitiveness' in boat-building," said BassFan's chief marketing officer Terry Brown. "They've been doing it now for 35 years, and remain the only family owned, independent boat builder left in bass fishing.
"Even though I know a bunch about them, I'm excited to learn more as we focus on Bass Cat next week and in upcoming weeks."
