Healthy competition?

Ranger Boats founder Forrest L. Wood, the man whom the FLW Tour is named for, had some nice things to say about BASS in an interview in today's edition of The Outdoor Wire.

One of the questions posed to Wood was: "What about the FLW and BASS - you guys battle each other, how do you feel about BASS and FLW? How do you regard BASS?"

Wood responded: "The way I regard it, we need both of them. There's room for more than one circuit and competition's good for any business. BASS people have done a lot for the industry, they've brought it a long ways.

"I don't wish them any bad luck. The FLW has stepped up and given them a run in a lot of areas, and ESPN's big enough they can do about anything they please. There's a little bit of a different angle in the two organizations, and that's good."
