Report: Arey okay after collision

Elite Series competitor Matt Arey was not injured Monday after his boat was struck by a police cruiser that was in pursuit of another vehicle.

The incident occurred not far from Arey's home in Shelby, N.C., as he was returning from the Lake Fork Elite Series Texas Fest, according to a report published on the Bassmaster website.

Arey's boat and trailer suffered a good bit of damage and he won't be able to use it at the Fort Gibson Elite Series next week. A local dealer is rigging up a boat that served as Bryan Thrift's boat on the FLW Tour in 2018 for Arey to use in its place.
