> At stake: Cash prizes (winner receives boat/motor package and berth in Open Championship)
> Expected field size: 170 boats
> Last Open at Douglas: Sept. 7-9, 2017
> Winner: Ott DeFoe (50-03) – Click here to read about DeFoe's Winning Pattern.
> What they’re saying: “Last year, by the time we had the tournament, we had already had a little bit of cooler weather,” said DeFoe. “But this year — even though the tournament is a week later — the fishing could be tougher because it’s been in the 90s every day.

“I also expect the lake to be about 3 feet higher than it was this time last year — and 3 feet can make a lot of difference.

“I don’t know if it’s because we’ve had a really wet summer or what, but the lake just recently started dropping,” DeFoe added. “The tournament’s later. But the water’s higher, and that’s actually going to make more cover available in shallow water.

“A lot of areas where guys fished last year are going to look completely different now.”
