Report: Tacoronte to miss '18 Elite Series season

A report on Bassmaster.com this morning says that Florida angler Jesse Tacoronte will miss the 2018 Elite Series season, but plans to use a medical hardship exemption in order to return to competition in 2019.

Tacoronte, a rookie last year, is scheduled to have surgery in February on herniated discs in his beck and lower back. He also battled shoulder issues last year and had surgery on his right shoulder last fall.

With Tacoronte sitting out, the field for the Elite Series will be 110 anglers with the day-2 cut set at the top 51.
