Sasquatch? UFO? Elvis?

Here's the quote of the weekend. It's from Tony Smock, supervisor at Dixon Lake, the 72-acre lake in Escondido, Calif. (about 40 miles north of San Diego) where the potential new world record largemouth was hooked and then release last week.

As quoted by Ed Zieralski of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Smock said: "It's so crazy here now I'm thinking Elvis caught that bass from the grassy knoll with a UFO flying overhead and Sasquatch watching from shore."

Good one. And hey – what does now-deceased Cleveland Indians infielder Ray Boone have to do with giant California largemouths? And was George Perry's bass really a lot bigger? For that and more, check out Zieralski's latest article by clicking here.
