BassFan adds angler

BassFan adds angler

Although BassFan has supported anglers in the past, we've never had an "official" pro team. That changed this month with Alabama pro Clay Dyer. Dyer is now the first, and still only, BassFan angler.

Dyer will fish the Stren Series, and select FLW Series and BASS events in 2006. As the sole representative of BassFan on the tours, he'll sport a BassFan-wrapped Stratos as well as the newly designed BassFan tour shirt.

"We've worked with some of the best anglers in the world in the past," BassFan COO Scot Laney said. "But Clay is the only angler that we've ever conferred the pro-staff status on. Clay represents, to us, a 'can-do' attitude coupled with a kind demeanor. He represents bass fishing in a way different than anyone else does, is an excellent angler, and a living testament to the spirit and hope that all anglers have.

"The only trouble that we have is that it's difficult not to feel somewhat meaningless and insignificant when you're around Clay, and we'll work to keep the BassFan brand up to the standards that this remarkable angler deserves."
