FLW made a surprise announcement tonight with the addition of a seventh event to the 2017 FLW Tour schedule.
The new event will be at Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Ala., where the season kick off Feb. 2-5.
The announcement was made at the Forrest Wood Cup pre-tournament meeting and dinner Wednesday evening in Huntsville, Ala., just up the road from Lake Guntersville.
“A seventh FLW Tour event is something that many pros have asked for in recent years,” said Kathy Fennel, FLW president of operations. “We announced our traditional six Tour events at ICAST last month, but we wanted to surprise the pros with this announcement to kick off the Forrest Wood Cup in Huntsville. On Saturday we will also unveil the 2017 Forrest Wood Cup date and location as part of the week’s festivities.”
The updated 2017 Tour schedule is as follows:
> Feb. 2-5: Lake Guntersville – Guntersville, Ala.
> Feb. 16-19: Lake Travis – Jonestown, Texas
> March 9-12: Harris Chain of Lakes – Lake County, Fla.
> April 6-9: Lake Cumberland – Burnside, Ky.
> April 27-30: Beaver Lake – Rogers, Ark.
> May 18-21: Mississippi River – La Crosse, Wis.
> June 15-18: Potomac River – Marbury, Md.
