Elite Series final roster

BASS today released the final roster for its 2006 Bassmaster Elite Series. The final field is 110 anglers. As BASS previously noted, its roster topped 100 to honor commitments to Bassmaster Open anglers who would have otherwise qualified for the Bassmaster Tour.

BASS also announced it would begin ranking anglers with a new Elite Series Power Index. The system ranks anglers by average weight caught during their previous 12 tournaments over the last 2 years. (Editor's note: BassFan already tracks by-tour and combined weight rankings here. BassFan's 2006 weight rankings begin after the conclusion of the Okeechobee FLW.)

> Of course, Greg Hackney's on the final Elite Series roster. BassFan mistakenly included him in its Okeechobee Top 10 To Watch story today, even though he dropped FLW Outdoors competition for 2006. Apologies, and thanks to those who wrote in with corrections.
