Colorado abstained

BassFan initially reported that Colorado Federation state president Jay McMillan had voted for the Federation to remain with BASS at the recent presidents' meetings in Celebration, Fla. In an email to BassFan, McMillan said he had actually abstained, and The Bass Federation Inc. (TBF Inc.) president Robert Cartlidge confirmed that today by phone.

Cartlidge said TBF Inc. secretary Gary Bradford had recorded the vote incorrectly. "We went back and checked the written record, and it indicates that there was no vote cast, but there was a comment that they (the Colorado Federation) were more than likely to stay with BASS," he said.

Colorado's inclusion brings the total of abstentions to 15. Those states will leave the decision up to their governing boards.

Texas, New Mexico and the Canadian province of Ontario were the states that cast their support for the new BASS Federation Nation plan at the meetings, while 30 voted for the proposal from FLW Outdoors chairman Irwin Jacobs.
