Busch re-ups

Anheuser-Busch will remain a premier sponsor of BASS in 2006. The company joined BASS as a premier sponsor in 2002 and began the Busch Shootout program in 2004.

Anglers who weigh the day's heaviest bag at 2006 Bassmaster Elite Series and Major events will receive a $1,000 bonus from Busch. The Busch Shootout is a $160,000 specialty event that invites anglers who weigh the Top 10 heaviest 1-day bags of the season. The Shootout and daily programs will pay a combined $216,000 to anglers throughout the 2006 tour season.

Jim Lukowski is Anheuser-Busch director of marketing, value brands. He said: "The Busch Shootout has created a lot of excitement on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail over the last few years. We've received a lot of great feedback from anglers who participate in the program and anglers who have qualified for the Busch Shootout."

The 2006 Busch Shootout will draw 13 anglers: 10 from the Elite Series and Majors, one from the 2005 Bassmaster Open Championship, one from the 2006 Bassmaster Classic, and one from 2006 Federation National Championship. Dates for the Shootout have not been announced, and location will not be disclosed until anglers arrive at the lake.
