Marine insurance provider BoatUS has dropped its Weigh-to-Win contingency program as part of a company restructuring that has seen the apparent elimination of the BoatUS Angler division.
Heather Lougheed, the company's vice president of membership, announced to members in a letter recently that the program will conclude on Dec. 31 of this year. It stated the reason for the restructuring as "a means to help simplify the services we provide to both the fishing and boating community."
Steve Levi, who served as BoatUS Angler brand manager, confirmed that he's been let go. FLW Tour pro Troy Morrow of Georgia, who ran a BoatUS Angler wrap this year, told BassFan that his sponsorship deal will not be renewed.
"That deal wasn't big enough to make or break me, so I'm not hurting too bad," Morrow said.
The Weigh-to-Win program, which ran for 3 years, was open to tournament competitors at various levels who purchased on-road and/or on-water towing memberships. In 2014, memberships were priced as low as $38.
