Hawgtech, a Florida-based manufacturer of premium fishing reel accessories, has signed Bassmaster Elite Series pro Russ Lane to a sponsorship deal.
Hawgtech is primarily known for its aftermarket Hawg Handle reel handles made of carbon fiber material, with some models equipped with premium cork knobs. Other offerings ceramic bearings to upgrade reel performance.
"We've been getting to know Russ for about a year now and his methodologies have a strong hint of engineering," said Hawgtech co-owner Mike Slipy. "Being an engineer myself, that impressed me and I knew he was going to be a good fit for us.
"Russ is a great guy and has proved himself to be a tremendous angler. He is going to be a great spokesperson for us and we are excited to have him representing us."
Said Lane: "The Hawgtech reel handles have made a huge difference in my fishing. They help in lightening and balancing my rods and reels, which helps me fish harder all day long. The different sizes also help me tailor my equipment to different techniques, which makes me more effective as an angler."
