With much of the talk this week about how small Chickamauga Lake is going to fish for the FLW Tour season finale, it put a greater emphasis on boat number and who's blasting off before whom. It may not only determine who wins the tournament, but could also factor into how the Angler of the Year chase shakes out.
According to the FLW website, the field will be 143 boats this week, down exactly 30 from the season opener at Lake Okeechobee. It's also worth noting where those in the thick of the AOY race are slotted for blast off. Here's where the Top 5 in AOY points wound up in the boat draw:
1. Andy Morgan: 95
2. Bryan Thrift: 63
3. Jacob Powroznik: 17
4. Brent Ehrler: 86
5. Stetson Blaylock: 36
At first blush, it would seem Powroznik and Blaylock may have the early upper hand on the others in terms of being able to get on a better spot earlier, but it'll only matter if this bass are in a feeding mood when they come off plane and start making casts.
