Do Outdoors, LLC, also known as Lew's Fishing, announced today that Gary Remensnyder has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, replacing Lynn Reeves, who will remain actively involved in the business as Chairman and continue to provide strategy and product leadership to the company.
Remensnyder had previously served as president of Lew's and has helped guide the Lew's renaissance since joining the company in 2011.
"The board and I have been working on a leadership transition plan that allows me to work fewer hours and focus my time primarily on strategy, product innovation, and acquisitions," Reeves said. "I am excited that we are able to promote our new Chief Executive Officer from within the Lew's family."
Peter Leibman, a board member of Lew's, commented on the transition, stating, "Lew's has been tremendously successful because of Lynn Reeves' vision and tireless efforts. We are excited to continue working with him in a new capacity that keeps Lynn actively involved in driving strategy and product development. Gary's track record of growth in the fishing industry, and specifically with Lew's, makes him an ideal candidate to lead the Company as its next Chief Executive Officer."
