Next year's FLW Tour schedule announced

FLW today released its 2017 FLW Tour schedule. Here's a look at the lineup:

> Feb. 16-19 -- Lake Travis -- Jonestown, Texas
> March 9-12 -- Harris Chain of Lakes -- Leesburg, Fla.
> April 6-9 -- Lake Cumberland -- Burnside, Ky.
> April 27-30 -- Beaver Lake -- Rogers, Ark.
> May 18-21 -- Mississippi River -- La Crosse, Wis.
> June 15-18 -- Potomac River -- Marbury, Md.

Most of the stops are familiar to followers of the pro circuits, with Travis and Cumberland the exceptions. Low weights and tough fishing conditions have prevailed at those venues in the past.

Cumberland hasn't hosted a top-level event since May 2006, when Mike Hawkes won a weather-plagued FLW Series derby with a paltry 4-day total of 45-16. Hawkes was the only competitor to weigh a limit on the final day.

Travis hosted the Tour opener in February of the following year, when Maryland's Aaron Hastings triumphed with a 19-09 total over the final 2 days. That tournament took place under the previous Tour format that zeroed weights for the Top 10 following day 2.

The date and location for the 2017 Forrest Wood Cup will be unveiled on stage at this year's Cup, which will be held next month at Wheeler Lake in Huntsville, Ala.
