Operation Bass just announced that the Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship, scheduled to start tomorrow on Lake Champlain, is postponed until sometime in the future. The decision was made "in light of today's tragic terrorist attacks on the United States and out of respect for the victims," Operation Bass stated.

Brian Sayner, Operation Bass' VP of communications, told BassFan that the championship will be held at a later date, but has "no idea" when that might be. "We haven't had any time to think about future dates," he said. "It could even be pushed into next year."

He explained that rescheduling a tournament among the myriad of events held by Operation Bass is a huge process, and reiterated that the company hasn't yet had enough time "to look at the schedules and make a good decision there."

He added that "all major sporting events are canceled" in light of the terrorist attacks. "It's the right thing to do."

BassFan will have more details as they become available.
