American Bass Anglers this morning announced full details for its 2010 Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series. Next year's Series will feature the same 21 divisions and same number of events.

ABA president Morris Sheehan announced the schedule and said:

"This year the anglers gave us great feedback and we've integrated many of their recommendations into the 2010 season. To ensure we continue to offer a guaranteed purse, one enhancement to next season will be a guarantee of $2,500 for 1st-place for the co-angler to accompany the $5,000 guarantee for boaters based on a minimum field of 100 boats.

"The boaters will also be eligible for $5,000 in Triton/Mercury/MotorGuide bonus money at each qualifying event and a $205,000 1st-place payout at the no-entry-fee Championship, plus the ultimate prize of an entry into the Bassmaster Classic. This is the simplest and best method for the weekend angler to qualify for huge paydays and the Bassmaster Classic."

The $205,000 1st-place payout at the Championship includes possible contingencies of $105,000.

According to ABA, 1st place at qualifying events can pay as high as $11,000 and $14,000 at the divisional championships. The total purse at the qualifying events will be as high as $50,000 and $71,750 at the divisional championships.

The Top 40 boaters and co-anglers from each division advance to one of the 2-day, no-entry-fee Regionals, where the top boater win a Triton/Mercury boat package. Fifty boaters and co-anglers will then advance to the no-entry-fee Bassmaster Weekend Series Championship with a purse listed as $680,000. In addition to prizes, the Championship winner receives a 2011 Bassmaster Classic berth.

Entry fees remain the same as last year and payouts reach 20% of the field. Priority registration for the season begins Oct. 26, 2009, at 8 a.m. CST. Details can be found at WeekendSeries.com.

Sponsors of the Weekend Series are listed as: Toyota, Triton Boats, Mercury Marine, Early Times Whisky, Royal Purple and Probass Networks.
