RE: Dowden honored by home state – As a B.A.S.S. Classic "press angler" for a number of years prior to video, I can tell you, Bo Dowden was clearly "a good ride." Focused but engaging, there were two things I remember in particular. He asked me, "George, how do you come up with new stories to write? Seems like everything has been written." And he answered my own question of how they pronounced the name home town: Nak-eh-tish. I know I won't forget those brief trips with Bo. Glad Louisiana hasn't forgotten either.

RE: Lonnie Stanley passes – Lonnie, who is in the Texas Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, deserves his place in the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame. His tournament record aside, he developed or help develop so many baits and refined the baits that we use every day. From colored jig weed guards, interchangeable jig skirts, the Vibra Shaft tapered wire spinnerbait, the Wedge Blade, metal flake and silicone jig and spinnerbait skirts, just to name a few. He did this while fishing the Bassmaster Tour winning two events including the Megabucks and qualifying for five Bassmaster Classics. Few in the sport did more for so many than Lonnie Stanley. He kept his operation in Texas when so many companies took their business overseas.

RE: Lonnie Stanley passes – I still believe the 1/2-ounce Vibrashaft Spinnerbait with tapered shaft and blade in double colorado is/was the finest spinnerbait made. I can feel that bait better than most any other spinnerbait and it has caught thousands of bass for me. I wish the Stanley company would/could duplicate that lure exactly how they made it in the '80s.

RE: Avena had company – If the kids were in that spot before you were chasing those schoolers, then tou’re the one that needs talking to. But either way someone, be it kids or A.A., needs some etiquette lessons. I’ve gotta suspect it’s the kids and A.A. is doing nothing wrong.

RE: Ike's kayak win – Mike, I am 66 years old and in my time you are one of the best. Keep it up, keep on fishing, be safe.

RE: COVID strikes BPT – I guess some of the COVID-positive illegal migrants were shipped to the area of ICAST to work as spreaders. Finish the wall!

RE: COVID strikes BPT – MLF should have taken a stand and made it mandatory for all contestants to be vaccinated. These guys travel all over the country and room together. Hopefully they all recover.

RE: COVID strikes BPT – Anyone who saw what happened to Jon Rahm, the golfer, at the Memorial Tournament, where he was up 6 strokes and got yanked for the final day because of a positive COVID test, should get the vaccine. If you participate in professional sports as an individual you stand a good chance to lose money. In Jon's case, $1.7 million.
