Baseball Hall of Famer Johnny Bench will be the keynote speaker at the State of the Industry Breakfast at ICAST this year, the American Sportfishing Association (ASA) announced today.
The breakfast event marks the show’s opening and will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Bench was a 10-time Gold Glove Award winner and two-time Most Valuable Player as one of the key cogs for the Cincinnati Reds' Big Red Machine teams of the 1970s.
“We’re delighted to host Johnny Bench as our keynote speaker during Wednesday morning’s State of the Industry Breakfast,” said ASA president and CEO Mike Nussman. “Johnny’s said that he wanted to play major league baseball since he was 4 years old. By keeping his eye on the ball, he not only achieved his dream but ultimately became a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. His message of dreaming big and following through on your goals is a great way to kick off this year’s show.”
