The Tennessee River has been good to Randy Haynes over the years, especially Pickwick Lake.
Today, he collected his third career EverStart victory at Pickwick (and fourth overall) by bringing in 26-14 to close out a wire-to-wire win with a 3-day total of 79-11. Strike King 6XD and 10XD crankbaits were the key baits in his triumph.
“I think that the biggest key for me, though, was my knowledge of the lake,” said Haynes, who collected $30,088 and a new boat and outboard for the win. “I’ve spent a lot of time on this water. It provides a huge advantage when you know where to start and what to look for each day.”
Jeff Suratt, of Leoma, Tenn., caught 76-00 and finished 2nd. David Suratt was 3rd with 72-05.
