Baksay buys rod-sleeve company

Veteran Connecticut bass pro Terry Baksay announced today that he's acquired the Stor’s It company – maker of the fishing industry’s original rod sleeve.

“They do the job better than any other rod cover on the market,” said Baksay, who's competed in two Bassmaster Classics and three Forrest Wood Cups. “They’re made out of a heavy-duty perforated vinyl material which is breathable. The inverted tubular design is protective of your guides and line, too. Unlike other models out there, it attaches to the reel, so it will not move or come off in the rod locker.”

With the Stor’s It rod covers in place, an angler can fit up to 40 rods in an average-sized rod locker and “still pull the bottom rod out,” Baksay said.

He purchased the company from longtime team-tournament partner Dave D’Alessandro, so he’s familiar with its inner workings, which will allow production and distribution to continue seamlessly.

Stor’s It covers are available in 10 different models specific to spinning and casting applications and a wide range of rod lengths – everything from 5 1/2 feet up to monster flipping sticks. Each retails for $7.95 and they're available from many leading retailers as well as from the company’s website (www.Stors-It.com).
