Tommy Biffle boxed a tournament-best 16.37-pound stringer on rainy day 2 to take over the lead at the Arkansas River PAA Tournament Series out of Muskogee, Okla. with a 30.49 total. He'll take a lead of more than 4 1/2-pounds over 2nd-place Mark Rose into the final day.
"I'm catching them flipping and there's some good-quality fish where I'm at," he said. "I lost a 5-pounder yesterday or I would've had a better day.
"I've got two different things I can do tomorrow – I can take an aluminum boat and go into the Grand (River), or I can go back to where I've been fishing. Today they didn't bite until this afternoon and that kind of worried me, but I think I can catch them either way."
Day-1 leader Guy Eaker brought just three fish to the scale for 6 pounds and fell to 15th place.
