On an auditorium stage inside the Wagoner (Okla.) Civic Center, Casey Scanlon was awarded a paycheck in front of hundreds of his fellow competitors long before anybody made a cast at the Fort Gibson Bassmaster Central Open
Scanlon posed quickly for photographers and accepted a round of applause at the pre-tournament meeting while holding the oversized check for $300. He received the bonus from BoatUS Angler for his participation in its Weigh-to-Win program and his win at the Central Open on Table Rock Lake.
“You can’t beat Weigh-to-Win for the price of the membership,” said Scanlon, who mowed lawns and did landscape work in Kansas City before turning pro, and tags Lake of the Ozarks' November buzzbait bite as his idea of the perfect day of bass fishing.
The 28-year-old Scanlon demonstrated wisdom beyond his years by signing up for both the BoatUS Angler Unlimited On-the-Road and On-the-Water Towing Services for just $72.
While thankfully, he’s yet to need mechanical or towing assistance, Scanlon fishes and travels to and from tournaments with confidence knowing BoatUS Angler will be there should he need them, and with $300 in “Weigh-to-Win” money he’s already quadrupled what spent to become a member.
His win at Table Rock not only put $300 worth of “Weigh-to-Win” money in his pocket, but qualified him in the 2013 Bassmaster Classic on Oklahoma’s Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees. If he wins the Classic, he’ll put an additional $1,500 in his pocket, courtesy of the “Weigh-to-Win” program.
Scanlon is proof that it pays to buy a highly affordable BoatUS Angler membership, regardless of which B.A.S.S., FLW, LBAA, College Bass or PAA events you compete in, especially when you’re registered for the “Weigh-to-Win” bonus program. To make sure you are eligible, just dial (918) 742-6424 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday and ask for Kendell.
