BoatUS announced that Margaret Bonds Podlich has been named the organization's new president. She previously served as VP of government affairs.
Podlich's new role will broaden her responsibilities to include external communications encompassing government affairs and public relations as well as other association programs, benefits and services. It will include developing the association's official policy positions and leading the advocacy efforts on behalf of the nation's recreational boat owners.
She replaces former president Nancy Michelman, who recently lost her battle with cancer.
Podlich, a Maryland resident, is a lifelong sailor who's competed in national and international events.
