2013 Classic: Tulsa?

The Tulsa (Okla.) Sports Commission has scheduled a press conference for 11 a.m. CT Thursday at the Bank of Oklahoma (BOK) Center, and strong rumor suggests that its purpose is to announce the city as host of the 2013 Bassmaster Classic. That would make Grand Lake the likely venue, with Fort Gibson also a possibility as both are within about an hour's drive.

The BOK Center, opened in 2008, would likely serve as the weigh-in site. The 565,000 square-foot facility, built at a cost of nearly $200 million, seats 13,644 fans in its end-stage configuration.

It would be the first Oklahoma Classic in the 42-year history of the event.
