Simms enters bass market

Montana-based Simms, a longtime powerhouse in the wading-gear and fly-fishing technical apparel segment, has expanded its product line and is now making premium-quality jackets, bibs, pants and shoes for the tournament competitor. The company has inked six tour-level anglers to its pro staff and is sponsoring B.A.S.S. Federation Nation and American Bass Anglers (ABA) events, including the Bassmaster Weekend Series.

The star-studded pro staff consists of Gary Klein, Shaw Grigsby, Aaron Martens, Kelly Jordon, Ish Monroe and Brent Ehrler.

“We’re very excited to have this veteran group of tournament-tested professional anglers be a part of Simms as we expand our offerings,” said president K.C. Walsh. “They have put a lot of faith in us to make products that meet and exceed their demands and expectations.”

Martens said he is impressed by the depth and breadth of Simms’ product line.

“Simms is the perfect company for me to partner with when you consider I spend 300-plus days a year outside in the elements,” he said. “Simms has everything I need to protect my skin from the sun, wind and more.”

The new lineup will be in retail outlets in early 2012.
