A lot of BassFans looked at the angler list for the newly announced Bassmaster Legends event and logically asked, Where's Larry Nixon?
The Legends event, with a field that includes Jerry McKinnis, Bill Dance, Guido Hibdon, Bobby Murray, Guy Eaker, Ken Cook, Rick Clunn and Tommy Martin, will be held during the upcoming Toyota Trucks B.A.S.S. All-Star Week. And that right there about answers the question. Nixon fishes for automotive rival Chevrolet.
"They (B.A.S.S) won't let me fish it in a Chevy jersey," Nixon told BassFan. "I was invited to fish it, and I could have used my Stratos/Evinrude boat, which isn't wrapped with Chevy, but when it came right down to it, I couldn't wear my Chevy jersey. It's in my (Team Chevy) contract that I have to wear it."
McKinnis referred to Nixon in a recent blog, although he didn't mention the sponsor conflict. McKinnis did note that B.A.S.S. plans to expand the Legends event next year to include 20 anglers.
