Following are some weigh-in reactions from those pros who finished outside the Top 5 yesterday at the Murray Bassmaster Elite Series.

  • 6th: Tommy Biffle (20, 55-02) – "Lake Murray's always been one of my favorite lakes. I had a little bit of bad luck this morning. A guy was sitting there who'd watched me catch them yesterday. (And) I hadn't lost a fish all week until the last 10 minutes, (when) I lost a 4-pounder. I still like it. It's a great lake to come and fish. That's just the way it goes."

  • 7th: Jeff Connella (20, 55-00) – "It was a great week. When you start the thing, you don't really know how well you can do. But man, it was just an awesome week. I threw a V&M Pork Shad. I didn't really catch them good today, but if you'd seen what I had at 1:00, I really caught them between 1:00 and 3:00."

  • 9th: Jami Fralick (20, 53-07) – "I kept running new stuff. The first day, my 17 pounds all came off docks. That shocked me – it was my backup plan. But every day they'd move on the docks. The first day, all my big fish were on pontoon boats. The second day they were all on the floats. Yesterday they were all on the backs of the docks where the walkway was. Today, I just didn't get enough dock bites to figure out what to target. I have no complaints. I never lost a fish I hooked all week. That's just the way it goes."

  • 10th: Rick Clunn (20, 48-11) – "The first 3 days I had a limit by 8:30 and was throwing a Rico Suave and Rico popper on points, like most everybody. I also would take a Scrounger – a lot of these fish were missing (the Rico), we all had the same problem. The first 3 days when one would miss, I could catch some of them with a follow-up bait like that (Scrounger) with a Fluke on. Today, I completely lost my early bite. It expired at 9:00. I ran back up the river, which was the only place I could get a bite after about 9:00 or 10:00. The first day I did catch two big ones up the river. Today I finally misfired on one and my biggest bite today got off. I maximized my fish. I probably got the most I could out of them except that one that got off today."

  • 11th: Chris Lane (20, 48-08) – "I kind of fell back a little bit last week at West Point, but I came here with one thing on my mind, and that was to make another Top 12. I fished these points a lot differently. I'd pull up right on the point and put the Power-Poles down in 5 feet of water. I was catching those fish coming up."

  • 12th: Fred Roumbanis (20, 47-02) - "My goal at the beginning of the season was just to make the Classic after falling short last year. I caught a lot of fish out there this week. I ran up the river, went to go throw my frog, picked up a Fluke and caught a limit in about 20 minutes up there. There's no grass, but they're still there. I broke two off down the lake. It was one of those tournaments were I didn't land everything and execute."
