A trio of moves

Three significant personnel announcements were made in the industry this week. Here they are.

  • Former Yamaha Marine Group president Phil Dyskow (pictured) was appointed by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce to the Marine Fisheries Advisory Committee, which provides counsel on national saltwater fishery management issues and laws that protect marine mammals, sea turtles and other ocean life. It's the only federal advisory panel charged with making recommendations to NOAA and the Commerce secretary on the department's living marine-resource responsibilities, thus angler representation on the committee is absolutely critical.

  • Rapala promoted John Holterhaus to regional sales manager. Holterhaus, who joined Rapala in 2005, will co-manage the West Coast sales territory with fellow regional sales manager Roger Neufeldt and will oversee all new business accounts.

  • Strike King named Mark Copley manager of media and public relations. Copley, a videographer/editor with Collierville, Tenn.-based SchaZam Productions, worked closely with Strike King via the SchaZam-produced Strike King Pro Team Journal. He will continue employment with SchaZam. Formerly, Chris Brown handled Strike King media and PR duties, but moved to Buckmasters April 4.
