Tietje bags two

Second-year Bassmaster Elite Series pro Dennis Tietje of Louisiana has picked up two new sponsors for 2011 – the Coolze Heat Relief Towel and Omega Custom Tackle.

“This is the coolest product on the market,” Tietje quipped about the Coolze towel. “They have a great product for any outdoorsperson and they’re from right here in south Louisiana.”

Part of Tietje’s appeal to Coolze was his Louisiana background and the breadth of his outdoor interests.

“He’s a good old boy living the dream,” said Coolze owner John Broussard. “As his career grows, we hope to grow with him and we expect that he will create a market for our products among outdoor sportsmen across the country.”

Tietje said the addition of Omega fills an important niche in his tackle arsenal. The company is known primarily for its jigs.

“I met company president Todd Barnes on tour last season and we’ve created a great relationship,” he said. “Omega is a proven element in the fishing world. You simply cannot compete on the Elite Series if you do not have quality jigs, and Omega makes products that cover everything from swimming and pitching jigs in a foot of water all the way down to dragging a football jig on deep ledges.”

Said Barnes: “We are excited to welcome Dennis aboard the Omega nation. He’s a hardcore jig fisherman and fishes a jig 12 months out of the year. We know that he has already enjoyed tremendous success with several of our products and he is extremely knowledgeable about our products and their applications.”
